John Burns, a 63-year resident of Twentynine Palms, died March 26 at home due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease. He was 86 years old. John Burns is survived by his wife Carol, three daughters and two sons, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He retired after being a service representative for Southern California Edison for 33 ½ years.
A rosary and memorial mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, with Father Vivad officiating, at Blessed Sacrament in Twentynine Palms. A private interment will be held later at in the Rose Garden at Twentynine Palms Cemetery.
John Burns was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church for 63 years. He participated in the Twentynine Palms Sheriff’s Reserves, Twentynine Palms Search and Rescue unit, and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
