Evett Meza, a 23-year-resident of Yucca Valley, died February 18 of organ failure due to leukemia. She was 24 years old. Evett Meza is survived by her parents, Aurora Medrano, Luis Meza Vierra, both of Yucca Valley; her sister Laura Meza Arrelano, of Yucca Valley; and her brothers, Luis Meza of Palm Springs, and Ruben Meza of Yucca Valley. A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 2, from 9 to 1 at Evangelical Free Church in Yucca Valley, with a graveside service following at Joshua Tree Memorial Park. Evett Meza graduated high school while undergoing chemotherapy and dreamed of becoming a therapist for children with Down Syndrome. A GoFundMe account has been set up at an address in this story.
