SERIOUS INJURY IN A SATURDAY MORNING CRASH IN YUCCA VALLEY

A woman was seriously injured in a Yucca Valley traffic crash early Saturday morning. About 1:15 a.m., rescue personnel were called to the 52700 block of Highway 62 where a car had crashed into a light pole. County Fire Battalion Chief Mike McClintock said the driver, identified only as a woman in her 20s, did not need extrication from the vehicle, but she had sustained major injuries. She was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Southern California Edison was requested due to the damage to the pole. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
