A series of three earthquakes shook the high desert Monday, including a preliminary magnitude 4.1 quake at 7:19 p.m. The U.S. Geological Survey said all three quakes were centered near Ludlow, 39 miles north of Joshua Tree. A 4.3 quake was centered in the same area Friday night. The shaking was felt throughout the Morongo Basin communities of Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms. Some people also reported feeling the quakes in Desert Hot Springs. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
