A man who was arrested twice in two days in October for burglary and pleaded guilty to both charges, was arrested again Saturday, along with a companion, accused of breaking into a residence in Landers. According to a Sheriff’s report, a resident in the 58300 block of Barter Road pulled up to his home about 7:20 Saturday morning and saw a man and woman run out of his home. Deputies believe the suspects, subsequently identified as Daniel Haverty, 18, and Dawndra Klausing, 21, forced entry into the home and caused more than $4,000 in damages to the inside of the home. investigation led to a home in the 500 block of Becker Road, where a search revealed a jacket stolen from the home, along with Haverty and Klausing. Daniel Haverty and Dawndra Klausing were arrested on suspicion of burglary, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and are being held without bail on warrants for violating their probation for previous offenses. Haverty was arrested September 30 and October 8 for two different burglaries, including one at Walmart in which he tried to switch price tags on expensive electronic items, and pleaded guilty to both charges in mid October. Klausing has a 2013 conviction for being under the influence of drugs, and for child endangerment, after her two-year-old son was discovered on multiple occasions in 2013 wandering alone in the desert in Flamingo Heights.
