SELF DEFENSE CLASSES OFFERED IN YUCCA VALLEY

The Town of Yucca Valley Recreation Department is offering a personal self-defense workshop. Reporter Rebecca Havely tells you how to enroll…
Instructor Norma Rose is a black belt in Ketsugo Jujitsu and has over 20 years of experience. She will instruct a personal self-defense class on Saturday, August 20, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 at the Yucca Valley Community Center. The two-and-a-half-hour workshop includes demonstrations, hands-on instruction and a lecture. She will teach a variety of self-defense techniques that can be used by everyone and no experience is required. Participants should be 14 or older and wear comfortable clothing. The cost is $15 per person or free to students with school ID. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged online at yucca-valley.org or in person at the Community Center from 12 noon to 5 Monday through Thursday. On-site registration will be accepted if space allows. For more information, contact Sue Earnest at 760-369-7211, extension 244.
