A search and rescue team from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was at 49 Palms Canyon in Twentynine Palms this weekend, continuing its search for a Canadian man who went missing in July. Paul Miller, 51, left for a hike to the oasis about 9 a.m. July 13. His wife notified park rangers about noon that he was missing and a search was started about 12:30. Miller’s vehicle was found in the 49 Palms Oasis parking lot. The search and rescue and technical rope teams searched steep canyons that previous searchers were not able to access, but did not locate Miller. Anyone with information should call 909-383-5651.
