“Summer school this year, our expanded opportunity learning this year, is meant far more to be socialization, the hands-on learning, the projects, the being with your friends.”

Assistant Superintendent Amy Woods said the summer school program will not only be for those who need to make up credits from the regular school year, but for those who’d like to take elective and enrichment classes.

“Some art classes, health class…. Yucca High has yoga and conversational French, and sewing.”

The high schools will also offer advanced placement camps, to get students ready to move into advanced placement classes.

Summer school will be five weeks for elementary students, and six weeks for secondary students. Parents are urged to register their children right away, as online registration ends this Friday, May 28.

“The summer school begins on June 21.”
