SCHOOL FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY FROM AMERIGAS

The propane gas giant Amerigas has a fundraising program for schools – called “School Days” — that it has implemented nationally.  If students bring into their schools receipts for propane deliveries and put them in a School Days Receipt Box, AmeriGas will total the gallons on the receipts and pay $0.02 per gallon, up to a maximum of $2,000 per year. According to Amerigas, last year, two schools in Virginia, one school in Illinois, one school in Utah and one school in West Virginia received the maximum amount of $2,000!  Locally, the program is available through Amerigas subsidiary G&K Propane.  According to an employee at G&K, local schools currently participating in the program include Joshua Springs and Yucca Mesa Elementary.  To get in on the program, a school representative or parent from an individual school can come into the G&K office at 55596 Yucca Trail to pick up a sign-up packet.
