The LA84 Foundation has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Morongo Unified School District to help support Youth Sports Programs in the Morongo Basin. The funds will be used to provide new lights and a scoreboard for the Twentynine Palms High School football field. The district also voted to place a new artificial turf field and synthetic track as part of the project. District Superintendent Doug Weller stated the additions will giving Twentynine Palms High School a place to host home games and graduations for the first time.
