SCHOOL BOARD TO HEAR FROM COLLEGE PRESIDENT, SELECT NEW OFFICERS, TONIGHT

It’s going to be a busy meeting tonight for the Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the board will elect new officers for the next term, including a board president, clerk, district representative, and board secretary. At tonight’s meeting, the MUSD Board of Trustees will also hold work study sessions to discuss district communications and to hear the first interim financial report. The board will adjourn to closed session at 6:45 p.m. to conference with labor negotiators. In open session, beginning at 7 p.m., the board will be treated to a performance from Joshua Tree Elementary School third graders, hear a presentation from Copper Mountain College Superintendent/President Dr. Darren Otten on the partnership between the school district and the college, and review numerous school district policies. The meeting will be held at Joshua Tree Elementary School, 4950 Sunburst Avenue.
