The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees have a lengthy agenda to address at tonight’s meeting. Among the nearly 50 topics on the agenda is a work study session at 4 p.m. on the school board’s pursuit of a 2020 General Obligation Bond for district facility improvements. After the work study session, the board will adjourn to closed session at 5:30 p.m. to conference with legal counsel and labor negotiators. In open session, beginning at 7 p.m., the board will hold public hearings on the 2019-2020 agreement with the California School Employees Association and district employees. The board will also announce a declaration of need for fully qualified educators for the 2019-2020 school year, update the District’s partnership with Copper Mountain College, and approve 20 new pieces of curriculum for the district. The meeting will be held at Joshua Tree Elementary School, 4950 Sunburst Avenue in Joshua Tree.
