SCHOOL BOARD REVIEWS BOND EFFORT AND STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT PLANS TONIGHT

The board will first hold a work-study session starting at 4:30 p.m. to continue discussions on the school district’s efforts to place a general obligation bond on the upcoming November election ballot. The MUSD Board of Trustees will continue their work study session at 5 p.m. to review student achievement plans for five more district schools (Friendly Hills Elementary School, Onaga Elementary School, La Contenta Middle School, Oasis Elementary School, and Joshua Tree Elementary School). At 6 p.m., the Board will adjourn to closed session to conference with labor negotiators. In open session, beginning at 7 p.m., the board will hear a presentation from Yucca Mesa Elementary School students, hold a public hearing on agreements reached with the Morongo Teachers’ Association, and discuss the district’s dual-enrollment program with Copper Mountain College. The meeting will be held at Yucca Mesa Elementary School, 3380 Avalon Avenue in Yucca Valley.
