The Morongo Unified School District board of Trustees interviewed candidates for the district’s vacant area 5 board seat at a special meeting last night. News Director Andrew Dieleman has the details…

At last night’s special meeting, the board interviewed two candidates for the vacant Area 5 seat: Shadee Johnson, a former 14-year employee for MUSD and 20-year resident of the Morongo Basin; and Roberta Meyers, a recently retired teacher of 29 years, 19 of which were with MUSD. After some post-interview deliberations, the board made a preliminary vote of 3-1 in favor of Roberta Meyers (Trustee Condley voted for Shadee Johnson). The board will finalize its selection during its next regular meeting on Tuesday, June 15.
