The Morongo Unified School District Board of Education is moving its first regular meeting for November by one day, to Wednesday of this week. Reporter Dan Stork has the agenda…
On November 5, the MUSD Board of Education will hold an open session discussion of Hope Academy Charter School at 5 p.m., scheduled to last a half hour. Following a closed session with the usual pupil and personnel issues, and a Level III Grievance hearing, the 7 p.m. open session action agenda starts with a discussion of whether to support Assembly Bill 2372, which would change—for non-residential properties—the criteria for tax reassessment established by Prop 13. The next agenda item makes an administrative adjustment to the salary schedule for hourly translators and classified retirees who do substitute work. Then the Board will amend its policy on fees and charges to accord with state law, and will authorize paying for refreshments at the grand opening of the counseling and administrative offices at Twentynine Palms High School. The meeting will be held at Joshua Tree Elementary School, 4950 Sunburst Avenue.
