The Morongo Unified School District Board of trustees will meet in a work-study session at 4:30 today to receive on the Single Plans for Student Achievement from Friendly Hills, Yucca Valley, and Palm Vista Elementary schools, which will then be voted on later in the meeting. The board will then hold a budget work-study session. Following the work-study sessions, the board will go into closed session for five items: student expulsions and re-admissions; discipline/dismissal/release of a public school employee; conference with bargaining representatives for the Morongo Teachers Association and the California School Employees Association; conference with legal counsel over anticipated litigation; and an evaluation of the school superintendent. The board will hold two public hearings: one on the local control accountability plan, and on the proposed budget. Also on the agenda are curriculum for comprehensive sex education, STEAM exploration program at Twentynine Palms Junior High School, art history, debate, and a technical theater class. The meeting will be held at Joshua Tree Elementary School on Sunburst Avenue in Joshua Tree.
