In a 5:30 p.m. work/study session tonight, the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education will review the single plans for student achievement for Landers, Morongo Valley, Palm Vista, and Oasis elementary schools. Those plans will be approved during the 7 p.m. open session. During a closed session, the board will discuss student expulsions and re-admissions as well as conference with bargaining representatives for the Morongo Teachers Association and the California School Employees Association. It will then discuss a public employee performance evaluation for the superintendent Tom Baumgarten. During the open session, the board will hear a presentation from Joshua Tree National Park on the Nature Bridge project. Finally, the board will be asked to approve six board policies, ranging from naming facilities to student use of technology. The meeting will be held at Joshua Tree Elementary School, 4950 Sunburst Drive in Joshua Tree.
