SCHOOL BOARD HONORS NUTRITIONAL SERVICES

The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees held their first meeting of 2021 last night where the MUSD Nutritional Services team was recognized for their community contributions. Director Janet Barth and her team were awarded a plaque by nutritional partner Gold Star Foods celebrating their distribution of more than 2 million meals and more than 108,000 pounds of boxed food to the Morongo Basin community during 2020 school closures. At last night’s meeting, the board also approved the new salary schedule between the district and the California School Employees Association and approved contracts for flooring repairs, asphalt paving, and internet connectivity upgrades to various school sites. Lastly, the board was treated to a virtual performance from the La Contenta Middle School Choir and applauded the winners of the Yucca Valley Elementary School Fall 2020 art contest.
