The Morongo Unified School District Board of Education held a brief special meeting on Tuesday, June 16. Principals from Twentynine Palms Junior High School, Black Rock High School, and Onaga and Yucca Valley Elementary Schools presented their single plans for student achievement. These reports highlighted achievements of the just-completed school year, and set out goals for the coming year, and strategies for achieving them. In addition to quantifying improvement goals for math and English Language Arts, the plans put a spotlight on attendance, parent participation, common core implementation and assessment, and exploiting technology.
Contracts for certificated and classified employees were approved. The Board approved the SELPA (special education) budget and service plans.
