The Morongo Unified School District board of trustees handed out numerous awards at last night’s meeting, including one to a teacher for saving the life of a student. Reporter Andrew Dieleman has the details…
At last night’s meeting, the MUSD Board of Trustees recognized La Contenta Elementary School teacher Sara Beth Templeton who used the Heimlich maneuver to help save a student from choking. The board also recognized the accomplishments of seven students from throughout the district as part of National Disabilities Awareness Month, heard a presentation on the district’s state test results, and approved a number of new text books for the district. The board tabled discussions on a board policy concerning district class sizes, recommending a workshop be held before any decisions are made.
