At last night’s meeting, the board approved the district’s 2019-2020 school accountability report cards, which provide information about the condition and performance of each school to the public. The board also discussed preparations for the district’s upcoming annual audit and approved five supplemental novels for sixth-grade reading. The board also adjourned to closed session to hold a public employment discussion on the district’s Superintendent position. Trustee Keri Condley reported that the board took no actions during the meeting.
The board also approved the completion of repainting at Condor Elementary School. During staff reports, Assistant Superintendent Amy Woods presented a video to the board congratulating the recipients of Twentynine Palms Junior High School’s first-semester awards. Also, Assistant Superintendent Sharon Flores gave a brief update to the board on the governor’s 2021 budget proposal, sharing that expected state revenue has surpassed last year’s funding expectations. Flores stated that the district budget will continue to be planned in accordance with state budget assumptions with expectations of more changes after the May revision of the state budget.
