The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees have a busy schedule ahead of them today. The board will begin at 5 p.m. with a joint meeting with the Copper Mountain Community College District Board of Directors. Together, board members will discuss the dual enrollment agreement and the memorandum of understanding between the school district and the college, the success of the English as a second language (ESL) class at Yucca Valley Elementary School, and possibly co-hosting a joint professional development activity. After the special joint meeting, the MUSD Board of Trustees will adjourn to closed session at 6 p.m. to conference with labor negotiators. In open session, beginning at 7 p.m., the board will accept a $100,000 equipment grant for the National School Lunch Program; approve the district’s English learner master plan for the 2019-2020 academic year; hold a second reading of numerous district policies, regulations, and bylaws; and approve the 2020-2021 sunshine agreement with the Morongo Teachers Association.
