Scammers posing as SB County tax and debt collectors

San Bernardino County officials are warning you about scammers who call you from telephone numbers that look like they are coming from County offices.

The fraudsters use numbers and information to pretend they are workers with the County, and tell victims that they need to pay off a debt or property tax, otherwise the victim will have the driver’s license suspended.

The County’s Tax Collector and Assessor Recorder have stated that they will never initiate unsolicited phone calls in this manner, and they urge everyone to be very careful about providing personal information over the phone or via email.
