Civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored on January 21 across the country, and here in the Morongo Basin in Twentynine Palms. To commemorate King’s birthday, the Twentynine Palms Bible Baptist Church will hold its annual march. The one-mile march celebration starts promptly at 8 a.m. at Little Church of the Desert, 6079 Adobe Road and ends at Palms Southern Baptist Church, 5285 Adobe Road. Following the march at 9 a.m. will be a program with local speakers and music and free refreshments. Speakers will include 29 Palms Baptist Church Pastor Melvin Hagan, New Testament Baptist Church Pastor Bill Pasquini, and Palms Baptist Church Pastor David Squires. Performers include The Luminators, Hunter & The Wicked, and the Spirit and Truth Worship Christian Center Praise Team. A full list of speakers and performers is available below. The public is invited to join in the march and attend the program.
