If you’re looking for a furry friend, save the date for Saturday, August 17. The Yucca Valley Animal Shelter will be participating in an annual “clear the shelter” event that day. Adoption costs for dogs and cats are reduced to $20 that day so that as many pets can find permanent homes as possible. The adoption cost includes the animal’s initial vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and a free health examination at a local vet. The shelter hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Yucca Valley animal shelter is located at 4755 Malin Way in Yucca Valley.
