The San Bernardino County Fire Department has determined that a structure fire in Twentynine Palms early Saturday morning is suspicious in nature. Firefighters from Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, and the Combat Center were called at 1:10 a.m. to the 3900 block of Morongo Road where they found a detached garage fully involved with smoke and flames. Fire crews had the blaze knocked down in less than 10 minutes. County Fire Battalion Chief Bob Evans said the residence—a mobile home—had burned down about a year ago. He added that there were no utilities to the site, making the cause of the fire suspicious.
