San Bernardino County Public Notices now available on our website

The San Bernardino County Land Use Services Department will now be publishing county public notices with Z107.7. Previously, public notices would only be posted in the San Bernardino Sun, a newspaper based out of the city of San Bernardino. While these public notices were technically available for anyone in the county, you would have to be a subscriber to see them either in print or access them online.
Now, public notices that have to do with the Desert Region of the county will be also be sent to Z107.7, where we will host them on our website. These public notices inform residents of proposed developments, land use updates, workshops, and other county matters that are required to be open and available for public comment and participation.

Here’s how it will work: when San Bernardino County issues a public notice, we will post it to our new Public Notices page, where you’ll be able to read it or download the original PDF issues by the county. Most public notices include a Project Number, meeting date, or public comment period that you need to be aware of and we’ve collected important information that you can quickly review on the Public Norices list, as well as within the notice itself.
In addition to being posted on our website, we’ll also let you know on the Z107.7 Local News Daily when the county has a new public notice published.
As more public notices become available, we’ll add search functionality to look up current and archived notices. Email notifications of public notices are coming as well.
Making civic engagement easier
Adding public notices to the website is just one of the changes we’ve made to our website over the last few months, with the goal of making engagement with your local government a little simpler and more streamlined.

For every municipal or government meetings, we now include the remote participation link, agendas, and other important information in a small box at the top of each agenda story. If you scroll to the end of any agenda meeting, you’ll also find information on the board, commission, or other governing body that is holding the meeting.

Find out everything happening today at a glance
On the desktop version of our website, you can find a new section at the top of the sidebar called “Current Meetings & Events” – which gives you a quick rundown of the meetings happening today, along with any community events that have been submitted to our new Community Event Calendar.

It will also link to any public notices that have been posted in the last 7 days.
On mobile, these sections are stacked undernearth the news. As we continue to build out more informative pages and community information, we’ll be redesigning our radio homepage and news sections making it easier to keep an eye on what matters to you the most.
Public Safety and Crime reporting
When a story involves a crime, fire, missing person, or other public safety issue, Z107.7 News will now include an approximate location if one was provided by law enforcement or other reporting party. If a location map is available, it will be located at the bottom of any public safety story.

Z107.7 uses OpenStreetMaps whenever possible, which is a free and open-source map project.
More updates coming, and feedback is appreciated
These are just a few of the many changes happening on the Z107.7 website, and here’s a short list of things you can expect to see before the end of the year:
- Better online streaming of Z107.7 FM, with a persistent streaming player that doesn’t reset when clicking off the page
- An upgraded Cruisin’ Critters, with a scrollable list of lost and found pets (with photos, if available)
- A development hub with links and relevent news for all developments in the Morongo Basin
- Expanded Event Calendar with additional options and filters
Constructive feedback and suggestions are always welcome, you can email them to website@z1077fm.com
