SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY FIRE JOINS FEMA TASK FORCE

FEMA California Task Force 6 is an emergency disaster response team comprised of civilian specialists and fire personnel from fire departments in Corona, Hemet, Murrieta, Pechanga, CAL FIRE, and Riverside County Fire. Members specialize in search, heavy rescue, haz-mat, medical response, heavy riggers, structural engineering, and logistics. Rescue Specialists Robert Edie from Yucca Valley and Michelle Smith of Joshua Tree are among 15 San Bernardino County Fire Rescue and Haz-Mat specialists who have been added to the task force, which is capable of deploying within hours of a sudden natural or man-made disaster.

Hazmat specialists Carlos Canizales (Fire Station 161, Upland), Brent Cannon (Fire Station 10, Phelan), Doug Jordan (Fire Station 305, Hesperia), Kirk McKay (Fire Station 73, Fontana), Kyle Hauducouer (Training & Special Operations), and Jeese Sparks (Fire Station 72, Fontana).
