Patriot Weekend begins this weekend. And in honor of disabled veterans from the Hi-Desert through Coachella Valley, motorcycle riders will join the “Salute to Veterans Run” from Palm Springs to ceremonies in Indian Wells on Saturday. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has more on how to participate…
The third annual group ride and “Salute to Veterans Run” will see 200 to 300 riders go from Palm Springs Harley Davidson to Washington and Fred Waring in Indian Wells ceremonies that include refreshments, speakers, presentation of colors and bag pipes, a Palm Springs Air Museum flyover, a patriot walk, vendor expo and more. Meet veterans from WWII through today. Riders will then assemble and complete the group ride to American Legion Post 739 in Indio for a social gathering, BBQ, refreshments, raffle, and live entertainment. The American Legion Riders are well known for support of children’s hospitals, schools, veteran’s homes, severely wounded service members, and scholarships.
Pre-Register at www.ALRIndio.org. or on the day of the Run from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. participants can register at Palm Springs Harley Davidson. The group ride leaves Saturday, October 21, at 10 a.m. sharp. Registration is $20 per person. The run will end at the American Legion Post 739 at 44200 Sun Gold, Indio.
