On June 8, join author, professor, and former firefighter Ruth Nolan for an invigorating lecture and slideshow “Fire On the Mojave: Stories from the Deserts and Mountains of Inland Southern California.” This lecture takes a broad view of the role fire has in our desert, The presentation will be held at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, 6760 National Park Drive, in Twentynine Palms. The cost is $5 per person at the door. There is an optional dinner with the speaker at 5 p.m. at the 29 Palms Inn. Space is limited and attendees are responsible for their own meal.
