The Hi-Desert Nature Museum launched a new exhibit Thursday (August 19) highlighting the cultural and artistic influence of Route 66 in California. The exhibit is a compilation of memories about the Historic Route 66 depicting fond memories of Mother Road’s and the adventurous spirit of those who got their kicks on the road. The exhibit showcases the photography of Andy Romanoff and Brian Helder;  a collective art installation from local artists, along with Route 66 artifacts and informative and interactive panels. The Hi-Desert Nature museum is open Wednesdays through Saturdays, by appointment at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m., and now for walk-in visits from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  For more information, call the museum at (760) 369-7212 or visit hidesertnaturemuseum.org.
