ROTARY SEEKING GROUPS AND NEIGHBORHOODS FOR MAY 1 COMMUNITY CLEANUP

Spring has sprung, so the Rotary Club of 29 Palms, the City of Twentynine Palms, and Burrtec Trash and Recycling are pooling their resources for the 2021 spring community clean-up event. They want to hear from residents about where they should go. Reporter Heather Clisby has details…

United in a three-way partnership to tackle neighborhood blight, the Rotary Club of 29 Palms, the City of Twentynine Palms, and Burrtec Trash and Recycling are hosting the 2021 spring community clean-up on Saturday, May 1, from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. Large dumpsters will be available behind the Community Services Building on Joe Davis Drive for residents to safely dump their trash and yard waste at no charge. (No tires or household hazardous waste is allowed.)

Meanwhile, the Rotary Club will donate to participating youth groups, sports teams, and non-profits that clean up areas in need of attention. To suggest an area in Twentynine Palms in need of a clean-up, contact Committee Chair Gary Daigneault at [email protected].

City Manager Frank Luckino and Rotarians will review the suggestions and assign the participants an area to clean up. Twentynine Palms-based service organizations and non-profits can also apply to participate. Sports teams can contact Rotarian Dan Mintz at [email protected].

For more information, contact Daigneault at 760-366-8471.
