ROTARY CLUB FOOD DRIVE COLLECTED 59,633 MEALS

The four Rotary Clubs of the Morongo Basin collected enough food to provide more than 59,600 meals for residents during its first annual food drive last week. The Valentine’s Day food drive collected bags of food at Stater Brothers East in Yucca Valley; each bag contained 10 food items that made up one meal. The food drive collected more than $7,000 in cash in addition to the 59,633 meals. The food and cash will be distributed to The Way Station, American Food Bank, Food Pantry at Faith Lutheran, 29 Palms Community Food Pantry, Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel, United Methodist Church and Copper Mountain Mesa Community Center. Z107.7 was a sponsor of the food drive and Morning Show co-host Pat Michaels provided on-the-air updates from the food drive.
