A driver escaped injury Monday evening when the car he was driving overturned on the Morongo Grade. The driver told paramedics he was driving up the grade about 6:45 p.m., but his vehicle came to rest on the downward side of the grade. The highway was closed in both directions for a period while first responders were at the scene. The Morongo Grade has been the scene of numerous accidents in recent years.
