A 39-year-old man escaped serious injury in a roll-over crash that shut down Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms Monday afternoon. About 3:25 p.m., deputies say that the unidentified driver was driving westbound on Highway 62 near Midway Road when he tried to change the radio station. He drove onto the right shoulder of the highway and overcorrected, sending his truck across all the lanes of traffic to the north side of the highway. The truck overturned and rolled into the desert, knocking down multiple utility poles and road markers. The driver was not injured and was picked up by a family member, but his pick-up truck was totaled. The highway was closed for about an hour.
