A suspect in a robbery of a drive-thru restaurant in Yucca Valley that was thwarted by employees was apprehended weeks later. On March 14, County Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted to an attempted robbery at the Castaneda’s Mexican Restaurant in Yucca Valley. Deputies say that at around 2:15 a.m the suspect drove his car into the drive-thru then held up a firearm and demanded money from the employee of the restaurant working at the drive-thru window.

The report states that employees of the restaurant immediately called 911, closed the drive-thru window and began photographing the suspect, who fled in his car down Twentynine Palms Highway at high speed.

Sheriff’s Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Travis Sharp, a 32 year-old resident of Yucca Valley. Yesterday (April 5), detectives search warrant at Sharp’s residence in the 57000 block of Belmont Street in Yucca Valley, where they say they found additional evidence related to the attempted burglary.

Travis Sharp was arrested for investigation into attempted robbery and booked at Morongo Basin Jail on $100,000 bail.
