Joshua Tree National Park officials announced that construction will begin soon on Pinto Basin Road inside the park. The project will include widening, realigning, and modifying the road to 24-feet wide, with a speed limit of 35 to 45 miles per hour. It’s expected the realignment will improve sight distances at the Porcupine Wash area and the site south of the Cottonwood Visitor Center. The construction will result in travel delays of up to 30 minutes. For questions concerning the project, call Jeremie Johnston at 760-367-5683.
