Construction began this week on two major road projects in Yucca Valley: the Palomar Avenue Widening Project and the Yucca Trail Safety Improvement Project. Both projects are expected to be completed in January. The town will hold progress meetings for residents. The Palomar project consists of widening Palomar Trail at the intersection with Yucca Trail. Traffic signals will also be replaced, and new striping painted on the pavement.
The Yucca Trail Safety Improvement Project consists of widening Yucca Trail from Warren Vista Avenue to the Palomar Avenue intersection. The project will add 8-foot shoulders, 12-foot travel lanes, and a 12-foot center median with left turn pockets at intersections.
Progress meetings on these two projects are set for 5:30 p.m. December 21 and January 6 in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center. Masks and social distancing will be required.
