I was bicycling through the park mid-day Thursday, and saw a road sweeper at work brushing sand off the roadway, as well as piles of already-moved debris at Jumbo Rocks campground. The park road is still closed from the north entrance to the Park at the Oasis of Mara to the turn-off to Cottonwood.

In addition, the Jumbo Rocks campground and the Cottonwood Oasis, including Cottonwood Springs Trail, Mastodon Trail, and Lost Palms Oasis are also closed.  More information on alternative hiking locations in the Cottonwood area is available on a handout at Cottonwood Visitor Center. The Cottonwood Visitor Center is open daily from 9 to 4.
