3

Four months since Rita Ramirez lost to Rep. Paul Cook in the 2016 congressional election, she’s already looking for a rematch. At a recent protest at Cook’s office in Redlands, Ramirez was handing out fliers that read “2016 Elections: Dr. Rita Ramirez will run for Congress District 8 in 2018.” A retired Marine Corps Colonel, Cook won a third term in office Nov. 8, beating Ramirez 62.3 percent to 37.7 percent. Ramirez is a retired college professor who lives in Twentynine Palms.
