Don’t miss all the antique, classic, and late-model cars, trucks, and motorcycles at the Twentynine Palms 17th annual car show and street fair. Along with the vehicles that will be competing for coveted trophies, there will be a soapbox derby for kids age 5 to 14 down Donnell Hill, starting at 10:30, a climbing rock wall, vendors, live music, a static display from the Combat Center, and tethered hot air balloon rides from 2 to 6 p.m. Early bird tickets for the tethered balloon ride are $20 and are available at the Chamber of Commerce and various merchants; call 760-367-3445. Tickets at the balloon ride are $30. The car show is Saturday, March 18, from 10 to 6 on Highway 62 in downtown Twentynine Palms. For more information, visit 29chamber.org.
