RETURN OF ‘FLYING DOCTORS’ SEEKS VOLUNTEER DOCTORS

The ‘Flying Doctors’ will return next spring offering free dental and vision care, but volunteer doctors and dentists are needed to make the event a success.  Reporter Ernest Figueroa shares the details…

The Flying Doctors will return to Copper Mountain College this spring, but the Morongo Basin Healthcare District needs volunteers to help with offering free dental and vision care for the uninsured, underinsured, and underserved. Volunteers are needed in the following specialties: general dentistry, dental hygienists, optometrists, opticians, nurses, and optical techs. Both full-day and part-day shifts are available. The Morongo Basin Healthcare District sponsors the day’s events in collaboration with Copper Mountain College, Los Medicos Voladores -Flying Doctors, and Healing California, a nonprofit organization who will provide the dental and optometry equipment for the event. The event takes place Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bell Center on the campus of Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree.
