The Local Chapter of the California Retired Teachers Association will meet this Friday, September 14. The 2019 season’s first meeting is scheduled at 10 a.m. in the Helen Grey Center, 6601 White Feather Road in Joshua Tree. Brian Walls from Los Angeles will be speaking with wit and humor about crime safety. Their community outreach program is partnering with Morongo Unified School District to help needy children with school supplies that may be used at home. Suggested items include colored pencils, pencils, pens, primary paper and secondary paper. Lunch will be provided for $15. Reservations are required. There is no cost to those who attend the meeting but choose not to order lunch. Seats however must be reserved. Please call Sandy Widman at 760-853-0454.
