RETAIL MARIJUANA ON THE AGENDA FOR THE YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL TONIGHT

The Yucca Valley Town Council has a full agenda for tonight’s meeting. After approving agreements and authorizations for the new Measure Y and Measure Z sales tax measures, the council will be asked to increase the street sweeping contract to $135,000, and to approve $17,000 to refurbish the softball infield at Machris Park. At tonight’s meeting of the Yucca Valley Town Council, the council will hold a public hearing on adopting the triennial California building code. Next up is appointing new commissioners to the Planning and Parks and Rec commissions. Council members will also discuss and give direction to the Planning Commission on whether the town should allow recreational dispensaries and retail services, cultivation, delivery, and possession of recreational marijuana in town limits. The council will also be asked to change the town’s code compliance administrative assistant from part time to full time, and authorize the town hall to remain open during lunch hour, Monday through Thursday. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
