RESIDENTS IDENTIFY WOMAN SUSPECTED OF SHOPLIFTING, HIT-AND-RUN

Area residents identified a woman who was caught on surveillance cameras Saturday attempting to shoplift in a Yucca Valley grocery store.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the new Stater Brothers store in Yucca Valley about 7:50 p.m. Saturday for a woman, later identified as Yolanda Gulley, 57, of Twentynine Palms, who was trying to shoplift items from the store.

When Gulley was confronted by store employees, she fled the store in a gray Nissan Sentra, and rammed another vehicle in the parking lot as she fled.

The Sheriff’s Department put Gulley’s photo on its Facebook page and several members of the public identified her as the driver of the Sentra. The case will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for a review of charges.
