RESERVE A SPACE TO DINE WITH THE SPEAKER OF 2ND FRIDAY LECTURE SERIES

The Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park sponsors the second Friday lecture series. Their next offering is entitled, “The Hatches of Twentynine Palms.” Here’s more from reporter Rebecca Havely…
Liz Meyer is a former city council member and mayor of Twentynine Palms and she serves on the Board of Trustees at Copper Mountain College. She offers the next lecture as she tells the tale of her parents Bill and Ada Hatch coming to the desert in 1931. Sponsored by the Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park and the Twentynine Palms Historical Society, this lecture is held at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, 6760 National Park Drive in Twentynine Palms, on Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m. This lecture is open to the public and costs $5 per person at the door. There will also be an optional dinner with the speaker at 5 p.m. at the 29 Palms Inn, space is limited and attendees are responsible for their own meal.
