The brother and sister-in-law of the Yucca Valley man who was acquitted of attempted murder last month, accepted a plea bargain last week for the same shooting in Yucca Valley. In February, a jury found Robert Nolan, 25, not guilty of attempted murder in the shooting of Steven Hill in November 2012. Nolan and his brother and sister-in-law, Aaron and Zoey Hancock, had gone to the home Aaron Hancock’s former girlfriend to settle a dispute over custody of Hancock’s son. Aaron Hancock and Steven Hill started fighting, and Nolan fired warning shots, and then shot Hill when he charged him. Last Tuesday, Aaron Hancock and Zoey Hancock accepted a plea bargain of exhibiting a deadly weapon (other than a firearm). They were ordered to pay a fine and serve 30 days in county jail, with credit for 30 days served.
