The Red Cross is looking for volunteers in the Morongo Basin. The Red Cross is working to prepare for and provide disaster relief related to fires, storms, and other large-scale events. Morongo Basin’s Disaster Cycle Services Team is seeking volunteers to help provide assistance when these events occur. Red Cross volunteers will also be installing free smoke alarms alongside the San Bernardino County Fire Department at their “Sound the Alarm” event in March. Any Morongo Basin resident interested in volunteering is invited to the response team’s next meeting tonight (February 23) at 6 p.m. at the Yucca Mesa Community Center, 3313 Balsa Ave, in Yucca Valley.
