Tomorrow is the second Saturday art crawl in Joshua Tree. Meet artists James O’Keefe and Barbara Spiller at an artists’ opening reception Saturday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Joshua Tree Art Gallery, JTAG. On Sunday, April 14, the artists will present a free artist talk at the gallery, starting at noon. The O’Keefe/Spiller show, “Extensions” is on display through April 28. JTAG is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. The art gallery is located at 61607 29 Palms Highway in downtown Joshua Tree.
For all those who’ve wondered “what’s behind the curtain?”, Gallery 62’s newest exhibition will show you. “Work in Progress” highlights eight artists and the behind-the-scenes approach each takes with their creative process. Featured artists are Ben Allanoff, Matt Adrian, Kim Bagwill, Gubby Beck, Kat Green, Bill Green, Prescott McCarthy, and Joanna Szachowska, with Laurie Schafer in the Signature Room. An opening reception will be held Saturday, April 13, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The gallery is open Fridays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The gallery is located at 60167 29 Palms Highway, Suite H, in downtown Joshua Tree.
The Art Queen in Joshua Tree will feature the artwork of Dena Zemsky at an opening reception Saturday. Zemsky is a painter, ceramist, printmaker, and photographer. The opening reception will be held Saturday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Art Queen, 61855 29 Palms Highway, during the Second Saturday Art Crawl. There will be live music and complimentary refreshments. The exhibition will be on display through April 25.
