The 29 Palms Art Gallery will host an art reception for their May show Saturday (May 7), with hospitality served on the gallery patio from 5 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend and meet the artists. Admission is free. Featured in the east gallery room in May are “Desert Floral Portraits,” a vibrant exhibition of oil paintings by Vanessa Rusczyk of Poway, showcasing many of the species of flora that live in the Southern California desert regions of Joshua Tree National Park and Anza Borrego Desert State Park. The gallery’s west wing features an exhibition of 3-dimensional works by two artists. Dan Bartlett of Morongo Valley will present “In the Light,” a series of unique sculptural works and found-object lamps he calls illuminated assemblage. As a complementary exhibition, Marcy Gregory of Palm Desert will be showing her narrative sculptures and found-wood assemblages in a show titled “Dominion of Shape and Shadow.” Artists’ Guild members will display new works in the members room this month. The 29 Palms Art Gallery is located at 74055 Cottonwood Drive at the corner of National Park Drive, in Twentynine Palms, CA. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
